Annual Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run Scheduled at CRMC

The Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Foundation will hold the annual Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, November 21, 2009. The Turkey Trot 5K race will begin at 9:15 a.m. An early registration fee of $20 if received by November 13 will include a Turkey Trot shirt. Event day registration is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. with an entry fee of $25. The 1 mile Gobbler Run/Walk will be held with a registration fee of $10 and will start at 8:45 a.m. Preregistered participants will also receive a Turkey Trot shirt. Registration forms are available online at www.crmcinc.org , the Hospital Lobby or from the Foundation Office located near the Emergency Room entrance.

"Last year we had participants come from as far as Pennsylvania. We had a great turnout,” said Nancy Wright, President of the Foundation.

"This is a family friendly event. We encourage parents to participate with their children or strollers if desired. The Gobbler Run is available for children and walkers, if they aren’t interested in the 5K,” said Tamara Carnahan, Interim Executive Director of the CRMC Foundation. The course is one mile, or two times around the hospital sidewalk.

The USA Track and Field certified course routes to the west past Community Elementary, down First Street to Tyler and returns to its origination at the corner of Wilkie and 4th, across from CRMC. "If parents wish to participate in the run, but are concerned about their children, we have the Kid’s Korner that will provide supervised activities until parents return,” said Carnahan.
