Hearing Set on SCR 1621

A hearing has been set for Monday January 25th by the Senate Judiciary Committee for SRC 1621 which deals with taxpayer money being used to sue the legislature to get more taxpayer money. The hearing is set for 9:30 AM in room 548 of the Capitol.

The resolution, introduced by Senator Kelsey of Goddard, expresses the sense of the legislature concerning the separation of powers between the courts and the legislature pertaining to the expenditure of funds.

The resolution resolves that "with respect to the determination of specific amounts of appropriations, the legislature of the state of Kansas should act based solely upon its on deliberative judgment as to the proper public policy determination and the amount of funding to be provided?.
