Chester the Pit Bull 02-25-10 Well, our little "shelter" is still open! Saturday afternoon I was driving west on 11th (a busy street in this little podunk town) when a large Pit Bull ran across the street with a puppy on its heels. The Pit Bull ran into a parking lot (Nellis Hall to those who know Coffeyville) and disappeared.

Missy Watches Over Owner Even After She Passed Away June 2009 My story is about what happened with one of my customers a few years ago. After, I think, 14 years of having their cocker spaniel, Little Missy went peacefully one night. As a groomer, I have always found that thereis no shortage of individuals that thinksomeone needs another dog. While at work one day, I received a phone call from the Coffeyville Animal Control Officer (ACO) about two cocker pups that had been thrown over the shelter fence.

KCs Story-Lost Dog Returned, Special To Family - May, 2009 My family is originally from Independence. My older brothers moved to Chanute and both of them started their families there. Of course my mom wanted to follow to be close to her grandchildren. She, my little brother and I moved to Chanute around 2001. In 2002 my brother?s dog had a litter of dachshunds. My mom had picked out the one she thought she was in love with and my dad chose another. The one my mom picked out changed in looks dramatically. He got this almost weird shorter face and this really bad overbite. You could see his teeth from all angles. It was almost one of those "he's so ugly he's cute" deals. Anyway, to keep the story going, my mom traded my dad dogs.

Caseys Story-Two Long Lost Dogs Returned - January, 2006 On Dec. 12 [2005] my pets ran off exploring after the gate had been left open to their backyard environment. They have long legs and a lot of curiosity and they must have ran far and fast. They had also just had their breakfast and were off on a full stomach. The only thing I could do was leave the gate open and search for them. I notified the animal control officer and also Lance at KGGF so he could announce the missing pups on Open Line.
